Stakeholder Consultation

General Carbon (GC) initiates local stakeholder consultation for Water Purifiers Programme in India

Stakeholder

Description of Project

GC will coordinate the Small-scale Programme of Activities (SSC-PoA) as a PoA managing entity, and will support the SSC-CPA implementer(s) in planning and implementing the CDM Programme Activities (CPAs) in India.

The purpose of proposed SSC CPA is implementation of water purification systems to the communities for providing access to safe drinking water which otherwise was not accessible. The individual purification systems will utilize advanced technologies and emit very less greenhouse gases.

A typical CPA will be located within the PoA geographical boundary. The water purifier used in typical CPA saves the fossil fuel or electricity consumption which would otherwise required for water purification .By reducing fossil fuel or electricity consumption, the project activity directly reduces green house gas (GHG) emissions from the use of non-renewable biomass.

The owner of the SSC-CPA or the managing entity of POA conducts awareness amongst rural people for drinking water purification. So that the rural people will also come to know the importance of drinking water purification.
