You need JavaScript enabled to view it Synopsis: Description of PoA: American Orient Capital Partners (Philippines) Inc is starting a small scale Programme of Activities (PoA) to promote the development and implementation of small renewable power projects, with the objective of contributing towards increased generation of renewable energy in the Philippines.
The purpose of the project is to utilize available renewable energy sources to generate electricity and to reduce the ever-increasing gap between demand and supply of electricity in areas in the Philippines. The PoA also aims to contribute to economic growth and development in the host country.
The PoA would cover renewable energy technologies such as wind power, hydro power, solar power, geothermal power, biomass power and all other technologies that would harness power from a renewable source. Projects that would come under the PoA directly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by replacing fossil fuel based power generation in power plants connected to the grid by renewable energy power generation. Technology Employed: The PoA will employ all technologies that harvest energy from renewable sources including but not limited to biomass, water, geothermic, wind and solar.
Contribution to sustainable development: The proposed PoA contributes to sustainable development in the Philippines through the following benefits: Environmental Benefits: The PoA will replace the fossil fuel based power generation in the power plants connected to the grid with renewable energy. This results in the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other local pollutants such as CO, SPM, NOx. This also prevents the depletion of natural resources such such as coal which is a non-renewable resource.
Economic Benefits: The PoA increases employment opportunities in the areas where the projects are located leading to a general increase in local-community income.
The plant will use efficient and environment friendly technology thus facilitating technology transfer and the promotion of renewable energy technology.
