We also monetize emission reduction assets by investing into CDM projects as part of our proprietary portfolio. We typically invest in a project early in its development cycle, where the developer is looking for investors to finance the project. As co-developers, we guide the implementation of the project thereby offering unique synergies to the developer. We also invest in commercial emission reduction solutions such as clean technologies, low carbon initiatives and related services to help us realize a sustainable low carbon economy. Transaction Advisory General Carbon offers a comprehensive suite of transaction advisory services to project developers, emission reduction users and financial market participants. Given our team’s extensive experience across technologies, geographies and regulatory standards we are able to structure innovative CER and VER transactions to match any buyer’s requirements for offsetting and/or investing. General Carbon advises project developers on Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements (ERPAs). ERPA’s allow project developers to enter into fixed price forward contracts thereby mitigating the risk of long term price fluctuations. Price is a function of technology, performance, guarantees and credit rating and General Carbon’s in-depth understanding of the risks and strong network of global buyers ensures value maximization. |
