Based on an initial viability assessment and due diligence, we enter into an agreement with the project developer. Our core team of experts will partner with the developer to prepare the Project Idea Note (PIN), Project Design Document (PDD/PD), and subsequently guide the team through the complex regulatory process including monitoring and verification of greenhouse gas reductions, and finally certification.
Our team has unparalleled experience in the emission reduction space, having formulated methodologies and also aided in developing some of the earliest CDM, JI, VCS projects. We have deep understanding of a range of technologies including energy efficiency, waste gas, and heat to power, renewable energy, biomass, small-scale hydro and bio-fuels. Climate Friendly CSR
General Carbon's experienced staff has advised many reputed businesses and governments on policies and strategies for management of corporate CSR initiatives and environmental and social responsibilities. To overcome the policy /regulatory deficiency in effecting inclusive value generation, many governments are requiring businesses to spend more on community development and also demonstrate that wealth generation is across all stakeholder groups. As a result of such policies, there is significant resource availability for community development and it needs to be channelised appropriately. The Clean Development Mechanism and other GHG ER schemes (VCS, Gold Standard , Social Carbon etc), though catalysed investments in clean processes and technologies in Industry sector, the investments into climate friendly practices, technologies and processes in Agriculture, Forestry and other rural sectors have not happened.
General Carbon has been working with the Businesses to channelise their CSR resources to catalyse investments into climate friendly practices, technologies and processes in Agriculture, Forestry and other rural sectors. Such a programme christened “Climate Friendly Communities” has many other socio-economic co – benefits attached in addition to climate mitigation. The carbon off sets generated by the programme supported by CSR investments of businesses can be used to generate carbon revenues to sustain/expand the programme or to off set carbon emissions by the business to achieve progressively carbon neutrality.
